María Gallardo Isidro

After graduating in Architecture at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2010 and obtaining a Masters in Interior Design in 2011, Maria had the opportunity to gain over 6 years’ experience living and working in Germany thanks to a Leonardo Scholarship. There, she participated in retail, housing, educational and heritage refurbishment projects in several architectural practices, namely Kleihues + Kleihues, Pfeiffer.Ellermann.Preckel and pier7-architekten.

Since she joint SI architects in 2019, she has cheerfully shared her broad experience and passion with the team, showing a great ability to rapidly adapt to changes and new projects and processes. A team player, she stands out for her calm, meticulous and warm attitude towards her work and colleagues.

Eager to keep developing her passion for photography and art, she recently enrolled in the Faculty of History of Art and likes to spend her free time visiting the best museums and exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and even has time to participate in international running competitions!

Julio M. Ceballos Fernández

Julio has worked with SI Architects since graduating in 1998 at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and further specialization in collective and public housing. Devoted to education he also holds a Master’s Degree in Education and combines his architectural work with high school teaching.

Applying his expertise and in-business experience, he develops creative and responsive solutions with a clear user-centred approach, including numerous award-winning residential projects. His creativity and conscientious dedication are always reflected in integrated and coherent proposals.

As Project manager, he is involved in the entire process of a project, from concept design to site work and construction. With a natural skill for empathy and understanding he always assumes a collaborative role with the clients and all team members throughout the process and is regarded as an optimistic, trustworthy and didactical leader.

Julio’s life is closely linked with cinema, having engaged in several productions and even written, directed and produced his own short films.

Clara Martínez-Conde Rubio

Clara studied the bilingual programme in Architecture at the Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid, graduating in 2018. During that time, she enjoyed several international experiences such as a one-year exchange programme in Edinburgh, UK, and workshops and volunteering programmes in China and Thailand. She also contributed to the University magazine Constelaciones for three years performing design and layout tasks.

Having already collaborated with us as an intern, she formally joined SI architects in 2019 after a short experience in an engineering office. Joining the practice has allowed her to rapidly learn the role and tasks of the contemporaneous architect, proactively adapting to changes and challenges. Her commitment and attention to detail combined with her sharp aesthetic eye and social concerns always guarantee rigorous and sensitive proposals. She is regarded as a positive, inclusive and cheerful asset in the team and is frequently consulted for TV series recommendations.

Self-declared a cat and nature lover, she enjoys practicing yoga, cycling and camping in her free time.

Alberto Sanjurjo Álvarez

Alberto graduated in Architecture with a specialty in Building Technology at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1991. His professional development blends together architecture, research, lecturing and teaching. He is Senior Lecturer at the Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid since 2001, holds a PhD in Architecture and has contributed to various international congresses and numerous international journals and publications.

Since founding SI Architects in 1996, he has worked with a number of public and private clients and has led many of our major projects. With a particular strategic and organizational talent, he has successfully developed a knowledge base and experience portfolio for the practice, especially in the fields of residential and educational architecture.

Alberto’s role has also seen the continued development of collaborative ventures with associated design and engineering firms offering another dimension to the services offered by SI Architects. Determined, optimistic and innovative, he is now focused on promoting our range of services to existing and potential clients both in Spain and in the Middle East.

Enrique Barroso Ruiz

Original from Castellón, Enrique joined SI architects just after graduating in Architecture at the Universidad CEU San Pablo in 2018. During his studies he showed a keen interest on sustainability and joint the cooperation programme CEU-University of Makeni (Sierra Leona), both performing supporting activities from Madrid and participating in field-work workshops. He also specialized in advanced building technologies attending the workshop organized in Kuwait by AGI architects and Wafra Real Estate, and elaborating on the issue during his Master Thesis.

Enrique had already gained experience in an engineering firm when he joined us, and quickly stood out as an easy-going, humorous and conscientious team player. Merging resoluteness and care for detail with a fresh, humble and positive approach towards work and the ability to remain imperturbable when it is most needed, he manages his tasks efficiently and is highly valued by the team.

Among his hobbies are cinema, team sports, food pictures and visiting museums, both for their continent and content.

Clara Medina García

Clara graduated in architecture in 2014 at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid after spending a semester at TU Delft in The Netherlands and studying user-centred innovation at h2i institute. She joined SI architects in 2016, after short experiences with g+f arquitectos, Architecture Sans Frontières and Ecosistema Urbano.

Her ambitions merge a keen environmental and social concern with participatory and holistic approaches, what earned her several distinctions in international competitions. With an eager desire to further specialize in planning and sustainable development, she became a LEED GA and moved to Belgium to pursue a Master of Human Settlements at KU Leuven in 2018. The experience abroad enabled her to work in different contexts, embracing change and trying out new ideas.

Back home, she has enthusiastically taken up the role of quality and sustainability coordinator. Combining her optimistic and proactive attitude with organizational skills, she can manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while effectively keeping our quality procedures updated.

Her biggest passions are travelling, imitating animal sounds and sharing inspiring quotes.

Ángeles Nuño Rodríguez

Graduated in Sociology by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1993, Ángeles has further specialized in the areas of Accounting and Managerial Finances during her professional career. After more than 17 years of experience in the administration and communication departments of architecture and engineering firms such as Ferrovial, Stolle Proyectos and Moneo Brock Studio, she joined our team in 2016 as Chief Administrative Officer.

Showing great care and rigour, Ángeles effectively manages all internal communications and meetings, as well as represents the link between our projects’ clients and stakeholders and the design team. She is also in charge of document management, making sure everyone gets what and when they need it. Empathic, methodical and hard-working, she never loses her smile and she is always willing to try new ideas and improve internal processes.

Ángeles is a classical music lover, outside work she loves playing the piano, dancing Flamenco and takes every chance to keep learning and discovering new hobbies whenever she can.

Irene Capote García

Graduated in Architecture in 2010 from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Irene started collaborating with SI architects in 2019 after an intense international career both in London, UK, and Seoul, Korea. Passionate about details and high quality spaces, she further specialized in Interior Design at the British College of Interior Design and the Chelsea College of Art and Design.

Curious, hard-working and versatile, she has participated in housing, hospitality, retail, offices and infrastructure projects, and is interested both in concept design and project implementation. Her extended international experience has taught her the importance of rigour and communication as well as soft skills for team work and fast adaptation to different environments, which she enthusiastically shares with the team. Hand-drawing is one of her strongest tools for developing and communicating ideas and atmospheres and she is regarded as an approachable, reliable and dynamic colleague.

Outside work she enjoys merging her biggest hobbies: sports, arts and crafts and family.

David Guitiérrez Gimeno

David earned his Degree in Industrial Engineering specializing in Mechanical Systems at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

With more than 15 years’ experience as Chief of our Engineering Department, he is in charge of developing innovative and practical engineering solutions based on project and client needs as well as completing technical calculations, technical documentation and specifications and supervising site work systems installation. Regarded as an genuine and close team member, he is able to manage several projects simultaneously from a calm and problem-solving approach, achieving accurate and efficient proposals.

His entrepreneur appetite and willingness to experience new challenges led him to start his own farming business, and now splits his time between engineering and agricultural work.
